Well y'all, back in 1991 my mom had some complications getting me here! I was finally born, August 28th 1991 to big Mike Christiansen and to LaRee Smith Christiansen. i grew up outdoors and loving to be outside, i roped my fist steer team roping at age 6. That was also y'all, the year on the way back from Florida vacation with my parents when I was learning to swim and swam in the ocean. onwards with the introduction
Kyle, enough already I know y'all are probably thinking. However, when I was six years old, I was asked to come up to the cockpit of an airliner at a layover in Raleigh-Durham North Carolina! from then, I was wanting to fly, fast-forward 8 years to age 14, I was leaving Las Vegas from a weekend stay with my parents out in Vegas I was leaving them to come home while they were out at a trade show. Anyways, I was flying United Airlines back. Y'all, I'm going to show my age here (seriously mid aged 34 not over the hill quite yet y'all), Ted Turner used to have a branch of United Airlines called Ted. I was boarding an Airbus 319 to come home; I walked up front and talked with the pilots. I came home and set my sights on flying. I was a private pilot prior to my accident.
Anyways, y'all here at Kyle Christiansen Recovery I offer faith-based podcast to help people getting through rough times, or to help people recover from their accident. whether they be Traumatic Brain Injury or
Spinal Cord Injury, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Alcoholism, OCD so on, but my two biggest strengths are telling people how i overcame things physically and mentally after my accident. My dad passed away September 17th, 2022; that was sudden and tragic come to find out he was battling cancer. he passed away from melanoma, lung and liver cancer. My grandma, on my mom's side died of lung cancer, my grandpa on my mom's side from Parkinsons, my grandpa on my dad's side from old age and COPD, my grandma on my dad's side to Lupous. Now y'all, it is me and my mom, no more family functions or anything of the sort. I quit drinking y'all, that should keep me around on earth a little longer y'all, thank the good Lord in good health.
Y'all, I'm also making getting to Heaven, a priority not a healthy alternative to Hell! seriously y'all, I remember so many times thinking after I die oh well, I'll go to purgatory then heaven but that beats the other place thank goodness probably won't end up in hell. Now, I'm looking at Heaven like wow, y'all how blessed am I to have eternal life with my loved ones that make it there, as well as friends that make it there along with animals. I am excited about faith, I look forward to praying now. I won't lie there were sometimes last year praying even I felt annoyed to have to pray. I did really y'all, not even going to deny that one or duck away from the heavy hit by God.
No, God, well what did he do? He showed me how great he is, Gods been working throughout my life, no over the last five months I've been excited about praying! Now, I get excited about praying and offering all praise to God, not like I was not praising him before, because I was. However, I'm a lot quicker to say I wouldn't have or amount to anything if not for God.
My life now is centered around Christ, as well as inspiration; no longer centered around team roping and flying or at times even after my accident drinking. No y'all even though no alcohol was part of my accident. I still battled alcoholism after my accident. I've made some really stupid choices on alcohol, as well as pissed a lot of my life down the drain with drinking times. I also don't want known as a drinker, I don't want seen as nothing but problems, which was exactly what I was when I drank.
God has looked out for me numerous times, he has made certain I was protected from many things! My accident quite honestly could've been so much worse, I could have been in a wheelchair and not able to walk. I was temporally paralyzed; I was not able to walk for some time there. I was pleased/blessed to be able to walk again. I'm grateful to the people that made certain i was going to walk again. Now, I can walk miles. In my accident, I learned how much love my mom and dad have/had for me.
